You can only fish for sturgeon for a short while on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Keepers have to be between 38" to 54" and all others are put safely back in the river. To add to the challenge, you have to use barb-less hooks. The one in this picture is 15 to 20 years old. Some live to be over 100 years old and 11 - 13 feet long.
